The Sustainable Aspect of Safety in Architectural Early Design: An Introduction to Prevention through Design (PtD) Concept

چکیده
Architects must have an adequate and relevant understanding of Prevention through Design (PtD) to execute essential design decisions during the early stage. The PtD as a proactive safety intervention throughout process has been supported in various studies, but there little research incorporatingPtDin practices by architectandprovisionalarchitectural parameter on Occupational Safety andHealth (OSH)matters, thus, leadingto gap this study.ConsideringthePtD concept part sustainablestrategy into thearchitecturalearly stages may significantly enhance building's life cycle performance, particularly operational maintenance phase buildingprojects. Therefore, thesystematicreview was motivated belief that architectural stage is one key factors improving performance practice PtD.This review begins analysing literature from 2011 2021 with keywords related aspect contributes building followed characterising atthe stage. The findings were identified clustered following five categoriesof parameters: 1) Site planning, 2) Space Planning, 3) Building envelope, 4) for Visibility, 5) Environmental DesignParameters. This finding hope be able providean frame reference Health (OSH) matters, allowing future researchers practitioners addresssustainable aspectof practicesof while optimising across projects.

INTRODUCTION The most effective means of preventing and controlling occupational injuries, illness, and fatalities is to "design out" hazards and hazardous exposures from the workplace. There is a long history of designing for safety for the general public and to a lesser degree for workers. METHOD We now have the experience and insight from thoughtful, previous efforts to call for a comprehe...

To give you a history of the evolution of the Prevention through Design (PtD) concepts, upon which I will base suggestions for possible future activities, I commence with a review of how an Institute for Safety through Design was created at the National Safety Council. In the early 1990s, several safety professionals recognized, through their studies of investigational reports of occupational i...
